Weekend Recap

As usual this weekend went waaay too fast, but I got everything done that I wanted to, so at least I feel accomplished!

Friday night I decided it would be a grand idea to go by the mall on the way home from work to take advantage of the Charming Charlie BOGO sale plus a $10 off coupon I had. Yes, I am a crazy person. The traffic on the way there was horrific, but the mall itself actually wasn't too bad.

I got a necklace, earrings, and 3 bracelets for $4!

We grabbed pizza for dinner and spent a lovely night at home watching Christmas movies and HIMYM. I finally put my Amazon wish list together for Adam so he can easily "shop" for me. We love Prime!

Saturday Adam went out to the RC club and I stayed home did things around the house and got ready for the party that night. I made some pretty awesome spinach and artichoke dip and painted my nails.

The party was fun and we met an adorable doggy!

We had to take pictures while we were all dressed up:

Sunday I cleaned the house and did the laundry- thrilling! But I actually really enjoy getting the house all reset for the week! I also did some reading for the Blogger Book Club and snuggled with the pups.

We went to dinner with a friend and then we came home and I got my Christmas cards addressed! So glad to finally get that done!

This week should be pretty chill at work, we have a holiday luncheon on Tuesday and then we're going to see the Nutcracker on Friday night! So excited!

How was your weekend?

Weekend Recap: Party Time!

So we haven't done this Christmas Party in a couple of years and I had forgotten how much work it is! It's always a blast but I'm glad we only do it once a year because OMG I am tired! I feel so behind  because I had NO time to read blogs on Friday and I have a backlog of comments to respond to. I will be working on that today, sorry for my slowness!

As I said I took Friday off and I am SO glad I did because as it is we were up until 2:30 AM Friday night working on stuff for the party. I can't imagine how late we would have been up if I hadn't been able to work on things during the day.

I spent most of Friday shopping for all of the food and grabbing a few last minute things for decor, as well as cleaning. I also stopped by Ross and found some new skinny jeans which I adore! They are so comfy and cute!

Adam worked on the lights on the house, and here is my sad attempt to get a picture of them, it is so hard to get a good picture of Christmas lights!

Friday evening after running around to like 5 stores trying to get everything I needed, we had dinner with some friends and then came home and started on the food for the party. I made the Peppermint Chocolate Cheesecake, which is a tradition that I make every year.

Saturday I slept in a little after very carefully calculating how much time I thought I would need to get everything done. I just knew if I tried to go through the whole day and evening on 4 hours of sleep I was going to be a very unhappy camper. I felt much better after getting a decent amount of rest and did the rest of the cleaning, finishing touches of decorating, and finished making the food.

A little of the decor

Finally everything was ready and people started to arrive! We ate tons of food and talked and saw people we hadn't seen in ages, such a lovely time!

I got these super cute towels and stuff as hostess gifts.

My BFF and I stayed up late talking and eating cheesecake which was fabulous! After she left it was time for bed but it took me a while to get to sleep, I was just so keyed up from the party!

Sunday was a really lazy day, we went to Chili's for lunch and shopped a little, then came home and watched Christmas movies and ate leftovers.

Lights on palm trees in Neptune Beach :: Leftover Christmas Crunch Popcorn
Chips and Salsa  ::  Chicken Pasta

It was wonderful, and now I need another weekend to recover from my weekend.

Linking up with Biana, Leeann, Ashley, and Bella!

Confessions

Last Saturday I when I was running errands I stopped to get gas and thought I would run the car through the automatic wash. So I put my little code in and it told me to drive forward. So I did, but I still had the window rolled down and I got sprayed in the face with nasty car wash water (or whatever it was spraying). These things only happen to me.

Yesterday I sat in the car during lunch and had the auxiliary power on because I wanted to roll down the windows. I sat there for about 20 minutes and then when I went to leave and roll the windows back up, they wouldn't go. Hmm. So I tried starting the car and heard a clicking noise and it wouldn't start. Hmm. So basically I killed the battery and Adam had to come give me a jump. It worked fine after that which is great but pretty much confirms the battery is fine and it was totally my bad.

I bought coffee three times on Saturday. Once at the coffee shop at the beach because I was chilled after sitting out there watching the sunrise, then later at Dunkin' Donuts because I had been craving their Pumpkin Spice Latte. I thought I would be done for the day after that but then after antiquing my friends wanted to stop at Starbucks. And I could have just not gotten a drink or at least gotten something non-coffee. But no. I got the iced hazelnut coffee AND a slice of pumpkin bread. So much for not buying coffee drinks to save money!

I get twitchy and really easily annoyed when my house feels cluttered and dirty. This is usually about the time I go on a cleaning spree and will stay up until 3 AM cleaning if necessary.

I have just realized that we are less than 2 weeks away from November 1st when I plan to send out the invites for our annual Christmas Party, and I only have like 5 addresses of the 20 or 30 I need. I should really probably get on that since driving to each individual person's house to hand deliver them might be more expensive than postage.

That's all I got today! Linking up!
