Friday Favorites

Favorite song:
Would You Go With Me- Josh Turner

This song came on the radio on our way home from the Corn Maze on Saturday night and it was so fun to hear it again!

Favorite food:
After fit club Wednesday night we didn't feel much like cooking, so I whipped up a quick spinach and monterey jack cheese omelet. SO GOOD.

Favorite purchase:
Ok, so I didn't buy them this week but this was my first time wearing them since Halloween- my ruby slippers! I LURVE them, they are so cute and pretty comfy!

Also these Clif Bars and sparkling coconut water I got from Earth Fare are the bomb.com. (Does anyone even say that anymore? Well they should.) Yes, that is a Pumpkin Pie Spice Clif Bar and it is AMAZING. Go get them now.

Favorite workout:

We did Turbo Fire at Fit Club on Wednesday, it was only 20 minutes but man was it good! It was HIIT, which I love because I always feel like I work the hardest and burn the most calories changing up the pace.

Favorite funnies:

It totally looks like him!

This has happened to me too many times:

Replace "class" with "work" and this is very accurate:

What even???

Linking up with all of these lovely ladies!

Blog Tour Time!

So apparently the lovely Taylor at A Cup of Tay (is that not the cutest blog name EVER??) wanted me to participate in a blog tour and tell y'all about something called my "writing process" and I was like "What's a 'writing process'? Am I supposed to have one of those?"

Just kidding! (Sort of) I was thrilled to be contacted by Taylor and given the opportunity to collaborate with her on a blog tour! Her blog is so much awesome (she has a story about eating pudding through a nylon, you guys) and you should totally go check it out right now. Don't worry, I'll wait.

A Cup of Tay

.....Anyways, so about my writing process:

What am I working on?
I have SO many blog post ideas in my head right now!

I have a couple of campaigns I need to write for, some I am waiting on the product and some I have the product already but still need to test it out in order to do the post. I also have some fun ideas for Christmas-themed posts and maybe some listicles (That's what I've heard them called by Buzzfeed and the like but that is such a weird word and kind of gives me the heeby jeebies).

I'm also about thiiiiis close to just getting a new blogging template already. All I have right now is one of the free ones on Blogger and it's ok but just kind of blah and not very customizable. I L-O-V-E love these templates from Sarah at Social and Chic (Or you may know her as Venus Trapped In Mars)!

How does my work differ from others of its type/genre?
Well, it's pretty much your typical lifestyle blog. I write about pretty much anything and everything, whatever is on my mind at the time. I try to be upbeat and fun, but with the occasional more serious and thoughtful post. I'm actually a really "in my head" and introverted kind of person, but I try to stretch myself and work on being more outgoing. I used to really struggle with being positive because I deal with anxiety a lot (and still do sometimes!), but at the same time I'm an optimistic person (talk about your walking contradiction!) so I'm trying to focus on the good and not let fear rule me these days. So I guess the only thing really unique about my blog is, well, me! My experiences, my outlook, and my faith which colors everything I do.

Why do I write what I do?
I write to document my life, my thoughts, and my dreams. I have always been horrible about keeping up with a written journal and would only write occasionally, and I gave up on scrapbooking a long time ago, but I do love looking back on what I have written and reliving the memories they bring! I have been a lot more consistent with this blog, and I know I will appreciate having it to look back through.

I also write to (hopefully!) be an encouragement to others. I feel like there is just so much bad news in the world, so much crap going on, so many things that bring you down. I want to be someone who is always an encouragement to everyone around me, whether it's through telling you you're not alone in your struggles or just writing something that makes you laugh or at least brings a smile to your face. I want you to always know that above all, no matter who you are, where you've been, what you've done or haven't done, you are loved.

How does my writing process work?
LOLOLOL! But seriously though, my writing process usually consists of "Hmm, what am I going to write about for tomorrow's blog post?" and then I write it, usually the night before right before bed, which doesn't give me a lot of time to do the more involved stuff. What I REALLY need to do is set aside time on the weekends to write drafts and *GASP* actually schedule my posts in advance but clearly I need an Erin Condren planner in order to do that right??

So now is the part where I get to introduce you to some beautiful ladies and their blogs, and nominate them to write about their writing process!

First up is this lovely lady:

Nadine over at Life By Nadine Lynn is hilarious and has the BEST confessions and ecards EVAR. Plus she always posts the most delicious looking food which is fun to drool over. I love her no nonsense style and her huge heart for animals! I mean she volunteers at her local humane society, how amazing is that?! Plus every time I read her posts I end up saying "YES, me too!" so we're basically the same person even though we've never met IRL.

Next up is Ashley at A Cute Angle:

Ashley is a sweetheart and I love her fashion posts and her posts about Princess Kate because I adore Kate and think she is the classiest thing ever! We agree on this so obviously we had to be friends. She also posted a recipe for something called a Cinnamon Roll Cake and HELLO deliciousness I need to try this!

And last but certainly not least is the fabulous Melissa:

Daily Chaos

Melissa blogs over at Daily Chaos and she writes about being Basic and how that's not a bad thing, being "Blogger Famous", and how dieting sucks. I love how real and straightforward she is, so refreshing! Plus she describes herself as "A bubbly blonde who loves bubble tea, chipotle, bears and pugs." I mean what's not to love??

So there you have it, three wonderful ladies and new blogs for you to discover! So go on, get to discovering!

You take the good, you take the bad...

- I'm actually pretty proud of myself with my November goals so far. I've definitely been eating more fruits and veggies, when I went running the other day I was already closer to my 9 minute/mile goal, and I'm halfway through my first book of the month!

- On the other hand, the leftover Halloween candy and cups of hot chocolate I'm drinking at work because I'm freezing all day probably are the opposite of help.

- I'm going to a Fit Club tonight and I am kind of ridiculously excited about it! We're doing a Turbo Fire workout, and I am just really excited to work out with a group and change up my routine!

- But it will be my first workout of the week so I pretty much have to buckle down if I'm going to get my 3 workouts in.

- I have a ton of blog post ideas piling up in my head!

- Too bad I've been to busy and/or lazy to actually write them.

- We (well Adam) got the room for his RC stuff painted so we can finish that up and reorganize the house for the Christmas Party!

- However we still have PILES of stuff we need to sell and/or throw out. One of the bedrooms will probably just be off limits to guests during the party. *shrugs*

- My sister-in-law sent me THE CUTEST picture of our little nephew!

- And it both made me happy and made me sad because we've yet to meet him and I don't know when we'll have the chance to go to Baltimore to visit.

- I got ALL the laundry done Sunday night! And there was A LOT of it!

- 3 loads of it have not been put away yet and are hanging out in baskets or the dryer.

Weekend Recap- Corny Edition

Hahahaha, get it?! Corny Edition?? Cause we went to a CORN maze?! Ok, never mind...moving on.

So the Corn Maze was so much fun! We went with my BFF and her husband and daughter. We had heard that the place gets super crowded but it really wasn't bad at all. Probably because we went so late in the season, but it works for me!

Brace yourself for the picture dump:

Sorry, that may have been excessive.

So after we left the farm, we had some yummy BBQ for dinner and then went home to watch the Gators, and I'll just leave this right here:

Sunday was pretty relaxing, we pretty much just chilled at home and I played with the DSLR a little and got some pictures of our teeny tiny bit of Florida "fall color".

I had a mild freak out in the afternoon when I realized it was almost Monday and I hadn't gotten any of my grocery shopping or much of the laundry and cleaning done, plus I had no idea what to make for dinner. So my saint of a husband calmed me down and offered to cook dinner while I worked on laundry and straightened things up around the house. I love him.

Here's to a great week ahead!
