Hump Day Confessions

I have 100 cupcakes to bake this weekend and I am so not feeling ready for this. Every time I have a cake job these days I get this "Ugh I haven't done this in a while, I feel off my game" feeling before I start, but then I get going and it's like second nature to me and I pretty much breeze through it. I guess when you spend 2 years baking and icing a case full of cupcakes (among other things) 5 days a week you get efficient at it and when you go back to it, it's like riding a bike.  #icingfordayzzz

Y'all. These shoes that are on my Spring Must-Haves list are on sale at Target, this week only,(because they like to torture me) and I'm supposed to be done with any clothes spending this month. Can I get a rain check on that sale until April 1st? Pwetty pwease? #budget

I feel like I should clarify something- none of these links to clothes and all that I post are affiliate links. I was reading recently about how apparently some bloggers who use affiliate links aren't very clear about it (although all the blogs I read are very clear about it and have disclaimers on every post, so IDK?) but none of mine are at this point. Not that it's at all a problem for bloggers to do affiliate links, I think it's awesome! But I actually have no idea how to even do the affiliate link thing and I don't think I'm cool enough yet. Maybe someday I will but if I do, I promise I will always let you know! #babyblogger

Have you ever had your quads get so sore and tight during a workout that you literally can't keep going? Like, if I do one more of these squats or jumps I'm going to land on my face? That was definitely not me on Monday during Plyo Fix #lies


I get irrationally angry and want to throw things at the TV screen when I get to that point and can't complete a set. It just makes me so mad because I want to be able to do it but my body is like "Girl, please." I may growl at the people on the workout DVD a little but no one can prove it. #Adamcouldtotallyproveit

The "Check Engine" light has been on in our car for longer than I would like to admit. We should really probably get that checked... #oops


I just created a snack consisting of chocolate graham crackers + cookie butter + bittersweet chocolate chips and it's my new favorite snack. I would post a picture but I ate it too quickly and it's gone now. #imayhaveaproblem

Friday Favorites

I swear I AM going to do a Disney recap. Just...not today.

My plans for this weekend definitely include Trader Joe's, dinner with friends, decorating my house for fall (finally!) and I'd really like to check out some thrift shops and see if I can find some deals on clothes! I need pants that fit me like whoa. I haven't had much luck in the past, but everybody's always talking about this cool, cheap stuff they find in thrift stores. We'll see, I kind of don't think I have thrift shop skills.

Anyway, I'm rambling now. To the faves!

Favorite song: 
So I'm a total sap, and I am aware. I heard this song this week and got a little misty-eyed. But seriously, I LOVE the message of this. Such a good reminder to look for the good things in every season of your life instead of always waiting for something more and wishing your days away.


And yes, I like country music, along with pretty much every other genre. 


Favorite food: 
By now you may have noticed I'm not much of cook. Baking, yes. Cooking, not so much. We love these because they are SO good and so easy. They definitely get the job done when we're starving but are too lazy and tired to cook. Which was pretty much this entire week. However I wouldn't recommend them if you're trying to like, eat healthy and stuff. Whatever.




Favorite workout: 
I'm all about T25 this week, specifically Speed 1.0. I hadn't done T25 in a while and OH.MY. If you've never done T25, just know you pretty much move at a frenetic pace for 25 solid minutes, no breaks. You may think you're in shape, and then Shaun T's like hahahaha, no you're not.

 
I hear Insanity is even more intense. I kind of want to try it, but I'm kind of scared.



Favorite purchase: 
You guys, I squee'd (<-----I have no idea how to spell that. Apostrophe? No apostrophe?) when I saw this little guy in Walmart last night. He's a squirrel. Who is a cookie jar. So obviously I HAD to get him. Now he just needs a name... (What, you don't name your cookie jars??)



Favorite Funnies:

As a lover of sleep, I could not agree with this more.

How do you Do More?

So I had the craziest day last Tuesday. It was non-stop from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to bed. Work was crazy, I had to go grocery shopping after work (worst time ever to go to the grocery store, by the way), then I had to cook dinner when I got home. I'm actually kind of impressed with myself that I still cooked dinner. Usually after a grocery trip after work I'm starving and I just want to eat, so we grab fast food. Budget and nutrition win!

Next I had to go by a friend's house to get their mail and water their plants, and go by Target to pick up a few things there. Then when I got home I still had to do my workout and get a blog post written. Phew!

And it seemed like the more I tried to hurry through everything I needed to do, the more I was slowed down by silly little things. Like I stopped to get gas and had to go to 3 different pumps until I got one that worked. Really??

Also it's still approximately 99 degrees here during the day, so you start not to feel so fresh after a whole day of running around like a crazy person. Enter new Degree with MotionSense with 48-hour protection. I got the opportunity to try this new antiperspirant for the first time last week, so I tried it on the day that wouldn't end. It has a nice clean scent (I got to try the Fresh Energy scent), not too overpowering, which is always nice!



Degree claims that you can DoMore with MotionSense because the more you move, the better it protects. Let's see about that!




So I get to the end of this crazy day, and it's time for my workout. This was definitely one of my more intense workouts, Total Body Cardio. It's 30 minutes of nonstop cardio with weights, which makes for quite a sweat session. Even after being punished for 30 minutes by Autumn Calabrese, I smelled good! It's a miracle!

I wasn't quite committed enough to test it for 48 hours (which would have required no shower after that workout, eew), but it definitely lasted me all day and stayed strong.

So I'm putting my stamp of approval on this stuff, it totally works!

Friday Favorites

Well, this was an awesomely short week! I decided I'm just going to do my recap from last weekend on Monday, especially since this weekend the only thing I have planned is getting my hair cut and definitely for sure watching Florida Gators football! It's really gonna happen this week, right?? #prettypleasefloridaweather

So let's get to the favorites from this week, other than the obvious "favorite" of having Monday and Tuesday off!

Favorite song video:
Ok, so I usually do an actual song here, but I found this video of a clip from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and I couldn't resist! So much awesome!



Favorite workout:
After we got home from church last night, we wanted to put the football game on, so I decided to find an alternative to my usual DVD routine. I found this one in Fitness magazine, it looked pretty simple but it kicked my butt pretty good!


Favorite food:
This crab cake I had in St. Simon's Island over the weekend was pretty much the best.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture, but trust me, it was amazing!


Favorite Purchase:
So because of the whole budget thing I'm not really shopping right now so all of my favorite purchases are food. Yeah, typical. This gelato right here, OMG.

I've never been pregnant but I can imagine this is about how it would feel...

PiYo Define: Lower Body

PiYo has been a lifesaver this week since my back has been acting up and I couldn't do my usual HIIT routine! I have no idea what I have done to my back to make it so mad at me, but it has been so painful this week, and the only thing that has helped has been stretching and Yoga poses. I'm such an old lady. Does anyone else feel 100 years old sometimes??

Favorite Purchase:

Can I put something that I wish I could purchase? We're trying to do this whole "budget" thing (bo-ring) which cuts down on my shopping quite a bit.
