Weekend Recap: Spring Cleaning Edition

Source

Happy Monday lovelies! Isn't that wallpaper pretty? Anne pinned it and I grabbed it for my Mac's wallpaper, so love it! You can get it at the link above.

I had a very productive weekend which always makes me feel great and truly ready to face the week!

On Friday night we went to dinner with some friends at 4 Rivers, it was our first time eating there and it was SO good! I didn't get any pics of the food cause I'm a bad blogger (and though Adam is used to me taking pictures of my dinner I thought the friends we were with might be like "What the heck is she doing??") but I had a pulled pork sandwich, collard greens, and sweet potato casserole. Mmmm Southern cookin'.

After dinner we stopped by Walmart to grab a few things and I had to get some Ben and Jerry's because of course I did. I still can't find the new flavor so I stuck with one of my all time favorites:

On Saturday morning Adam left bright and early for an RC event, so I spent the morning doing some shopping. Of course I had to grab some Dunkin', I got the new Butter Pecan flavor and it was very good but I still miss my White Chocolate Raspberry. ::sniffles::

I went to Ross to look around and found the most perfect little tins for my coffee bar:

And an ADORABLE little sun dress that I can't wait to wear! It's SO cute on, and it's a little hard to tell in this picture but it's a really pretty pale pink color with a subtle gray cross hatch pattern. Maybe I'll model it later this week and try my hand at a fashion post. That should be entertaining for everyone.

I'm not really supposed to be buying clothes right now but it was only $9 and it's just SO SO cute. So, completely valid reasoning.

After shopping I came home and cleaned the house and FINALLY cleaned out the inside of the car. I've been wanting to do it for MONTHS and just kept putting it off. I wiped everything down with Armor All wipes, vacuumed out the floor boards, and vacuumed and scrubbed the floor mats. I'm so glad it's done, it looks so much better!

Then I finished getting my coffee bar set up, still working out the placement and decor of everything but I'm loving it so far!

On Sunday we slept in and then went to lunch at Chili's, where we ate way too much chips and salsa and had Cajun chicken pasta goodness:

We checked the mail and I got my Flamingo shirt!

Look at the widdle flamingos! Squee!

And I got the prints and pictures I ordered for the gallery wall, I think I have everything all worked out for that, I just have to get frames for everything and it will be ready to hang!

I also worked on the budget and got some blogging stuff done, but I still didn't go through my closet to get rid of stuff yet, boo. Maybe next weekend?

Link it up and tell us about your weekend!

Friday Favorites

Woo Hoo FRIDAY!

This week actually went pretty quick for me, and I'm not mad about it. I think springing forward an hour had something to do with it, it totally threw my sense of time off but it seem to make time go faster, plus I'm really enjoying the whole staying light till 8 PM thing.

This weekend I plan to work on finalizing my gallery wall, cleaning and organizing, and going through my clothes to get rid of the stuff I don't wear anymore (again). I'm also hoping to enjoy some relaxing time at a local coffee shop with one of my new ebooks!

Favorite Food:

This was on Sunday, but I'm still dreaming about these banana chocolate chip waffles and I feel like there needs to be a repeat performance this weekend. Adam will be out of town all day tomorrow, so if we do these again it would have to be Sunday, otherwise me alone + all the waffles= bad.

Favorite Purchase:

I totally bought the flamingo shirt I talked about in my Spring Must-Haves post. I ordered it online because the store finder thingy on the website said our Targets were sold out. I got free shipping because Red Card and had $2 off so I got it for $5!

Favorite Treat:

Wednesday morning at work a couple of people were going out for coffee and asked if I wanted them to grab me anything (I wasn't able to leave at the time). So they very sweetly got me my iced coffee with hazelnut, and it was the perfect little hump day pick me up!

Favorite Mail:

I got a sample of this hair gel in a Birchbox a couple of months ago and it's amazing! It defines my curls and tames the frizz without making my hair all crunchy and gross and I love it! So I ordered the full size with my points I earned from doing the reviews on the Birchbox website, and it came this week!

Favorite Funnies:

What it's like to have allergies:

My life, every morning:

But really though...

That's all I've got! Hope you all have a fantabulous weekend!

My Spring Must-Haves

With the warmer temps in Florida this week I have been getting very excited to break out the Spring wardrobe! As much as I love sweaters, boots, scarves, and such I'm a Florida girl at heart and about this time of year I'm ready to break out the shorts, light, flowy tops, and sandals!

Since we've been trying to keep to a budget I've been trying very hard to resist the pull of the Spring sales and "shop my closet" as much as possible. But sometimes a girl just needs something new and pretty! So I've rounded up my favorite finds that are super pretty AND super affordable! Each piece is under $30!

FYI most of these are from Target, but if you know me at all this should not shock you.

Tops:

Charming Charlie- $25
I am obsessed with florals right now (I KNOW, really original to want to wear florals in the Spring right?? I'm such a trendsetter) and I love how flowy and pretty this top is! Plus the back detail! *Swoon*

Target- $7
Ok, it's really hard to tell from this picture but this shirt is a cool mint green and there are tiny flamingos all over it. *Squee* So obviously I must have it since I live in FL and the flamingo is our state bird. Actually that's a lie, it's not our state bird. But it should be.

Target- $9 but on sale this week for $5!

These shirts are so cute and comfy and come in a bajillion colors and I want them all! Plus they are on sale this week for $5!

Bottoms:

Old Navy- $25
I really want a pair of brightly colored pants like this, aren't they fun?

Old Navy- $22.94
I actually have a pair of these that I bought last year and they are SO comfy! The ones I have are navy blue and I'd love to have a pair in a light, Springy color like this light blue!

Dresses/Skirts:

Target- $27.99
Maxi dresses. Need I say more?

Target- $19.99
I have a maxi skirt pretty much identical to this one (just different colors) that I got from Target last year and I have worn it to death so it's looking worse for wear. It's basically the closest thing to wearing pajamas or yoga pants to work without actually wearing pajamas or yoga pants to work, so I'd like to get a replacement.

Jewelry:
Charming Charlie- $13
Love the colors in this one! And such a great deal for both necklace and earrings!

Charming Charlie- $6.00

Aren't these purty?? The color and shimmer remind me of the ocean!

Shoes:

Charming Charlie- $29
Ok, so I may be overdoing it on the mint green a little but these are just so perfect for Spring and warmer temps! Loving the ankle strap.

Target- $16.99

Wouldn't these be so perfect to slip on with some shorts and a tshirt? They're like the epitome of Spring/Summer- cute, easy, casual, and fun!

Purses:

Target- $29.99
Target- $22.99
Target is totally killing it with their purses lately! I have been drooling over all of these Merona purses since they first came out with them several months ago, they have such a luxurious look and feel but they are so affordable! I love all of the cute styles and bright colors, and this cobalt blue is striking! Plus I love a good crossbody!

What are your must-haves for Spring?

Confessions

Do you ever type "Pinterest" and see the little red squiggly line come up under it and stare at it for a few minutes thinking, "I know I spelled that right, what's wrong with it??" only to realize that no, Pinterest is not a real word so spell check is not going to recognize it. Shouldn't spell check recognize it as a proper noun though?? #Getwiththetimesspellcheck

I keep putting my bread in the toaster at work without checking the settings and having it pop out like 5 seconds later having been barely toasted, and that's when I realize someone has left the setting on "1". Who is the person who keeps doing this?? And why don't they believe in really toasting your bread? Do they actually like slightly warm, slightly crunchy, but still really blonde bread? Or are they just in that much of a hurry?

I always kind of forget I have shins until I go running, and then for the next two or three days I'm like, "Oh hi shins. There you are." #ouch

I feel like I'm at a point in my fitness goals where the desire to be a certain size is competing, and mostly losing, to my desire to eat all of the things. Since I don't have much left to lose to be at my goal weight, it's always like "Psshhhh, I can lose that next month. Pass the cheese fries, please!" I guess I'm trying to figure out what a realistic weight is for me, you know? And by realistic I mean one that I can maintain while exercising a realistic amount and eating mostly healthy with some ice cream and cheeseburgers mixed in, because really what's the point if you can't eat ice cream and cheeseburgers?

Then I remember that I will probably be wearing a swimsuit in a couple of months or less, and I go hmmm, maybe not on the pint of Ben and Jerry's.

Speaking of Ben and Jerry's, why did Jimmy Fallon do this to me?? He announces his new ice cream flavor and I get all excited and then I go to look for it in the store and it's nowhere to be found! I mean, how long is it going to take before it's available in our stores? Has anyone had a chance to try it yet? #tragic

Where are you, my love?
Do you ever see the stuff people post on Facebook I think, "See, I could have gone my whole life without knowing that about you, I really wish I didn't know that about you. Because now I kinda don't like you as much and it would have been better for our friendship if you hadn't shared that." And on that note...

Remember how I took almost a month long break from Facebook and I didn't really miss it? Well, I've only been back at it for about a month and I'm already kinda over it again. So I might be taking another month long break and then just seeing how I feel after that.

So this happened on Monday:

IDK why I look so angry in these pictures.
It was so very much needed, and I'm loving it! She cut it into more of an all one length bob, and I'm used to more layers, so it's taken some getting used to but I like it! The length was really dragging my hair down and I was getting frustrated with it every time I styled it. Cutting it short always makes it look more bouncy and healthy. At least I think so. #shorthairdon'tcare
