1. The Camaraderie
There's nothing quite like the feeling of being united in your love for your team with other fans and cheering in unison (or crying in unison, depending on the outcome). Regardless of how the game and season goes, you know you will always stay loyal to your team. This has, of course, been severely tested for Gators and Jags fans in the last few years (Ok, more than just a few years for the Jags), but the true fans love their team no matter what. #InAllKindsOfWeather
2. The Quality Time
I didn't always care much about football, but I started to get more interested in it a few years ago because Adam liked it. Instead of just watching the occasional game and just glancing up at the score, I actually started to understand the game better, and from then on I was hooked. It's become something we watch together. So even though we each have our own separate hobbies, football is one we can enjoy together and it's so much fun!
3. The Food
Obviously, the food is a big part of the fun. Chips and Salsa, Seven Layer Dip, Guacamole, Burgers, Cheese Fries, Chili, Hot Wings. All super healthy, of course.
4. The Tradition
Football is steeped in tradition, and I love hearing all of the stories behind each team, how they started, what records they have maintained, their rituals before each game.
5. The Athleticism
It's truly amazing what these guys are capable of, and it's so exciting to watch them run, throw, catch, block, and tackle with such precision and grace.
6. The Strategy
I love watching the plays and trying to figure out what their strategy is, how they plan to get the ball where it needs to go, and when things don't go like they planned, how they are able to (hopefully!) think on their feet and adjust.
7. The Clothes
Of course I had to include all of the fun clothes you get to buy in support of your team! I have a ton of Gator and Jaguar gear, and yet every time I see a cute shirt or PJ pants or a hat in the store I feel like I NEED it, because can there ever be enough team love??
Do you love football?
Linking up with Erin over at Love, Fun and Football!
I am totally looking forward to football season this year! While my excitement only lasts a couple of weeks, it's so fun to watch those first few games. I especially like to watch college football!
ReplyDeleteGirl I'm so ready for Florida football...I saw the hype video they change up every year last week and I'm ready!!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteWe have cable just to watch football too! haha We are big Notre Dame fans here, so we understand being loyal through all kinds of weather (figuratively and literally ;) My fave part are the traditions - there is nothing like college football! Thanks for sharing this with us for Tuesday Talk today! -Jess, Sweet Little Ones
ReplyDeleteoh yes! the clothes are definitely a plus to football season! (roll TIDE! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so ready for football!! I'm a college and pro fan (War Eagle & Go Pack!!), and it's going to be so amazing to have a new little fan in the house! Also, all the crap food! We always do Chick-Fil-A breakfast on game days, and I get a little too happy about it!
ReplyDeleteYES!! Can NOT WAIT for Fall and some SEC Football!! Roll Tide!!
ReplyDeleteStopping over from the link up! I love that you not only love the strategy, their athletic abilities, and the tradition, but also the FOOD!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't WAIT for college football to be back! One of the MAIN reasons we haven't cut cable in our house is sports... pretty sure my husband would not survive football season without it. :) Stopping by from the link-up - go Hokies! ;)
ReplyDeleteThank for sharing this on our Tuesday Talk football edition. You can tell you are a fan!
ReplyDeleteAll of the traditions, especially in college football, are some of my favorite things about the fall! It's tough when your team has some hard seasons of not winning (as Aggie and Texans fans, I can definitely relate), but the camaraderie between all of the fans definitely helps with the pain.
ReplyDeleteGo GATORS!!! I have to admit I'm very excited for Gator football and I'm really hoping our guys have a good year!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post! I can't wait for all the food, the tailgating, the rivalries, and of course the games :-D
ReplyDeleteSeriously- SO many good thins to love about football season! The diehard fans you can always relate to, win or lose and duh- food, for sure ;) Thanks for linking up!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe foot is certainly what keeps me around. Haha jk. I am not jk. I have a feeling that my team is in a rebuilding year this year, and those are the years all the fair weathered fans come out and start rooting for other teams. It will be interesting!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a bit jealous of the south due to it's football culture. Even if you don't love the sport - just the atmosphere seems so amazing and fun. We never had that due to our teams being big losers and hockey being the bigger deal (but still nowhere near football culture) and it was one thing I wish I could've experienced in undergrad.
ReplyDeleteLove it! The camaraderie is THE best!! Totally agree with you on all these :)
ReplyDeletei wish i was more into football, especially the other parts of it - tailgating and people getting together etc.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for college football too! It's been so much fun reading posts from others that love it as much as I do! The traditions are my favorite part! Just something about being surrounded by thousands of people who love your team (most of the time!) as much as you do!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for college football! I totally get the cable dilemma-we have considered dropping it several times, but we just love our sports too much!
ReplyDeleteYay for SEC teams!! I'm a Mizzou girl but at least we're in the same conference. I cannot wait for everything to start. We don't have cable either but its easy to stream it all via ESPN.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Erin's football link up :)
I can't even wait...Football Sundays are my FAVORITE! Lazy days around the house, with friends over enjoying snacks and the game...YES!!
ReplyDeleteFood and clothes are definitely the most important for me!
ReplyDeleteAll great reasons. I'd also add the players to your list. I have a few favs that I love seeing play.
ReplyDeleteYes to Football food and fashion!! We're looking at getting the nosebleed seats to some Jag games since S is up there now and they have Blake Bortles from UCF!!
ReplyDeleteThe food and the traditions are two of my favorite parts about football too!! Can't wait for the upcoming season!
ReplyDeleteIsn't football season the best?!?!? I love the food, the quality time together with my hubby and teaching our daughter to be a tiny little cheerleader. Thanks for linking up with us :) Whitney @ Polka-Dotty Place
