Summer Lovin': Still To Do

So Summer is flying by and I feel like I've barely done anything "Summery"! Here's my Summer to do list, some I've done but want to do more, others I haven't done at all:

1. Go swimming.

Yes, it is very, very sad that it's the end of July and I still haven't gone swimming this Summer. Pitiful in fact.

2. Read a book in the hammock.

I did this a couple of times in early Summer but not enough. Of course being July/August in Florida I will have to time this perfectly to be in the cooler part of the day or I will literally melt.

3. Eat ice cream/frozen custard.

Ok, I've already done this more than I should but at the same time can you ever have too much ice cream?? I say no.

4. Walk on the beach more.

We used to do this every week in the Spring and Summer and just got out of the habit.

5. Make S'mores.

I can never decide if this is more of a Summer thing or a Fall thing? But regardless I want to make them now! Even if it has to be in the microwave.

6. Ride bikes in our neighborhood.

Another thing we used to do at least once or twice a week but got out of the habit. We like to go out around dusk because it usually feels cooler and less humid outside. We can also do this well into the fall, it doesn't really get "cold" here until December.

7. Eat outside.

We do this a lot but I can never get enough! Our current favorite place to eat outside is Hurricane, they have a pretty nice patio and it's just up the road from the beach so you can walk in with sand all over your feet and not get dirty looks and you can still smell and feel the ocean breeze!

8. Buy this bathing suit.

Is this not so gorgeous?? I don't really need another swimsuit but it's purty and I want it. I'm thinking I will use it now and also in October for our trip to the mountains because we will have our own hot tub!

What's on your Summer to-do list?

Clean-Eating Treats Recipe Roundup

I've really been trying to straddle the line between "eat completely healthy all the time" and "eat ALL the bad food"- you know, that moderation thing.

I can do the really strict thing for about oh, two days (maybe) and then I'm like WHERE'S THE CHOCOLATE ALREADY so I need a plan to eat a mostly healthy diet with a little treat each day. I seem to be able to stay on track better this way.

So I've been pinning a bunch of recipes (BTDubs you should totally follow me, plug plug) for desserts that are clean-eating (or mostly clean-eating), lower calorie and smaller portions, but still satisfy the sweet tooth. These are the ones on my list to try, I hope to be able to make them soon and then I will report back with my findings! #fortheblog

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bars

Skinny Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars

Skinny Vanilla Bean Donuts

Guilt-Free Chocolate Truffles

Clean-eating Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Single Serve Brownie

Have you tried any of these? What are your go-to clean-eating goodies?

Fashion Trends I Can't Rock

Y'all. I have tried. I have seen these things on other girls and been like, "OMG I totally love that, so cute!" and then I try it on and it's like "WHOA girl. No." Overall I like my shape pretty well but it does not lend itself well to certain styles, and I have had to learn to accept that and move on with my life. It's fine.

You'll just have to trust me on these because there is no photographic evidence. Thankfully. Ok, well maybe there is but I'll never tell.

1. Very baggy/boxy shirts- I just need things that define my waist. And as much as I love the trend of really flowy voluminous shirts on other girls, anytime I try it I just look like I'm wearing a trash bag. When I do try this I always end up belting it and it kind of defeats the whole purpose. Plus they usually come to just above or right at my hips and that does not do me any favors.

2. Peplum- This one is BAD. But hope springs eternal and I just keep trying it on, thinking this time it will be different. It's so not. But it looks so cute on the hanger. I have decided that anything that adds volume to the hip area is a very bad idea on me.

I am so jealous of how fabulous she looks in this shirt. This is how I always imagine myself looking in peplum and then something goes horribly wrong.

3. 1/4 sleeves- I don't even know if that's the right name for it, but basically any shirt or sweater with sleeves that come about halfway between my shoulder and my elbow. It cuts my arm off at the biggest part and just makes them look super wide.

4. Bermuda shorts- Pretty much the same issue as the 1/4 sleeves. They hit my leg at a weird spot and cut me off and just...no.

5. High-waisted shorts- I'm talking the reeaaally high waisted ones- a la Kelly Kapowski- that are back in style now. They pretty much make my hips look twice as wide, and that's not good for anyone.

What about you? Can you rock these looks? What trends do you stay away from?
