Confessions

* I'm kind of in love with my phone

This is not my phone because my phone is my camera and how am I supposed to take a picture of my camera with my camera? Other than digging out the DSLR, which I was too lazy for last night. But mine is pretty and has an adorable clear case with white polka dots, so use your imagination.
It's pretty and takes amazing pictures and has a HUGE screen and I love it all. #obsessed

* I gave myself the cutest manicure with the colors in this post last week and then I proceeded to ruin it by cleaning the house getting ready for the party. This is why we can't have nice things. #I'mhopeless

I don't know why this pug had a princess hat, but you have to admit it's pretty awesome.
* I identify with this article on a deeply personal level. The only thing I would add is "you have collected several articles of clothing that pass as work clothes but are basically pajamas" #maxiskirt #palazzopants

* I decided to decorate for Fall before the party after all and I think I have a slight obsession with mismatched but coordinating placemats. I can't stop. #targetFTW

* We have a vacation coming up soon and I am SO excited I can barely stand it. I feel like I've basically already checked out. It is SO very needed. #mountainshereicome

* When I'm watching a show based in the UK and they are discussing someone's weight I have to google "How many pounds is a stone." Every. time.

* I have GOT to stop spending money on clothes I don't need, but dang it Target has the most perfect flannel shirts and booties right now and I WANT. #ihaveaproblem

* I bought Pumpkin Spice M&M's yesterday. That's all, that's the whole confession. #junkfood

What's up with y'all today? Anything to confess?

Fall-licious...Again.

*I definitely just copied this post from my second post ever and added a few updates/improved the pictures. But in my defense I don't know that anyone was actually reading back then, so there you go.

It just pretty much sums up Fall for me, I couldn't say it any better now than I did then, so I figured why reinvent the wheel, you know?*

So it's still about 99 degrees outside right now, but of course I'm thinking about my favorite season ever, FALL! Or Autumn, whichever you prefer.

I love absolutely everything about Fall. Not that we have much of a true Fall in Florida, but we can pretend, can't we? Besides, we do occasionally get some Fall color here! See, proof!

This is an actual tree here in Jax.
Granted, it's from a few years ago and it was taken in December. Still, totally counts.

A few of my favorite things about Fall:

1. "Cooler" weather- Yes, it does cool off in Florida somewhat. And after the sweltering heat of August, there is no better feeling than that first little bit of coolness in the air when you step outside! Of course, some years it takes longer than others to get here, but when it does arrive it is glorious!

2. Pumpkin everything- Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin bread, pumpkin cake, pumpkin butter...I once met someone who doesn't like Pumpkin. I don't get it.

3. FOOTBALL!!!- Specifically Florida Gators football, but really just football in general. I used to not really care about football, I would watch the Superbowl but that was about it. But then Adam and I started watching it together and I started understanding more about the game and I was hooked!

There's just something about it, the excitement, the team spirit, the athleticism, and the tradition. Our favorite is college ball, but we watch NFL too. Pretty much if football is on, I want to be watching it! We try to catch as many of the SEC games as we can, but we also enjoy watching teams from other conferences like Oklahoma State and Clemson.

4. The clothes- Even though I live in FL and we don't get very cold, I still LOVE all things cozy, like boots, sweaters, jackets, long sleeves...Sigh...

5. The Fair- We go with a group of friends every year to the cutest little country fair you ever did see. We look at all of the animals, watch the 4H competition, and admire all of the adorable displays set up by local elementary schools. Then we consume mass quantities of funnel cake, corn dogs, cotton candy, and BBQ and follow all that up with a ride that spins us in circles until we feel naseous. It. is. awesome.

6. The movies- I have a list of "fall" movies we have to watch every year- The Adventures of Ichabod Crane; Haunted Mansion (the cheesy but awesome Disney ride turned movie); It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; Sleepy Hollow (I just have to close my eyes for the gross parts), and Mad Monster Party.

7. The food and drinks-Everything is just more cozy, including the food! Fall equals comfort food galore! Pies, cakes, all kinds of chili, chicken and dumplings, caramel corn, apple butter, apple cider, hot cocoa, ginger snaps, sweet potatoes, anything involving cinnamon...

I could go on and on, but those are the highlights! What's your favorite thing about Fall?

Hot Mess Express

* My nails look HORRIBLE right now. Horrible, I tell you. There are several chips in them and I keep seeing them when I'm at work and nowhere near nail clippers and then I get home and completely forget to trim them. This has been going on for a couple of days. I should really put some clippers in my purse.

*Also my pedicure from over a month ago should probably be done now.

* The breakfast and lunch I packed for today is basically all carbs. Because I cannot seem to get myself together enough to go grocery shopping on the weekends and then I don't want to go after work so I'm left with peanut butter and jelly for lunch.

* I spilled eyeshadow all over my jeans in the car on the way to work this morning. That stuff does NOT come out with a wet paper towel. Just trust me on that one.

* We're having kind of an End of Summer BBQ party this weekend and I'm seriously agonizing over whether to decorate for fall this week (Adam decrees that I shall not decorate for Fall until the official first day of Fall, which is tomorrow) or if I should keep my current, more summery decor up until after the party. Like, I really cannot decide about this. I am fully aware of how ridiculous it is that I cannot make a decision this simple.

* I'm both excited for the party and also kind of dreading it a little because it means having to super clean the house and be all "on" for the party, know what I mean? I'm such a strange mixture of introvert/extrovert. I love hanging out with friends and I LOVE entertaining so I enjoy planning these things but then my introvert side peeks out and all I want to do is find a hole to crawl into with my books and my puppies and my Adam and hide from the world.

* I know I haven't been as present on the blog and on your blogs and I'm sorry. My schedule has been kind of weird lately, also I've been dealing with some anxiety issues and that always kind of puts me in survival, "do the bare minimum to get by" mode.

*Basically I'm a hot mess right now.

Favorite Beauty Finds

Happy Friday dolls! I thought today I would round up some of my favorite beauty finds lately.

1. Hair, Skin, and Nails- It Works

Y'all. This stuff is a game changer for me. I can't remember if I have mentioned this before, but I have Hypothyroidism, which affects a lot of things in your body, but one of those things is your hair. Before I was diagnosed my hair was super thick. But it started to thin, mainly in the front, about 10 years ago (that's actually what prompted me to see the doctor) and over the past year it has thinned even more.

If you have ever experienced this and maybe even if you haven't I probably don't have to tell you how disheartening and panic-inducing it can be to see more hair than usual coming out when you brush or noticing thinning areas on your head.

It's a major insecurity for me. I have tried a lot of different things and nothing really seemed to help until I started taking this. I've been taking it for about two months and I am seriously amazed at the difference in my hair thickness. The areas where it was getting really thin is starting to fill in, plus my hair looks shinier and healthier! I'm a fan.

I do not sell ItWorks products, nor do I plan to. I just love it so much. The link above is to my Distributor's site, but I do not get any kind of kick back or compensation for it.

2. Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

I got this in my last Birchbox and it's soooo much easier than any liquid liner I've used before! It's like a really fine tipped felt marker, so it's a lot easier to draw an even line and it stays put!

3. Maybelline Great Lash in Brownish Black

This mascara is a classic, super affordable and it just makes my lashes look great. Nothing fancy but I love it!

4. Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter Luminizer Gel

Another Birchbox find! I use this on my brow bone and in the inner corner of my eye to highlight and add a little glow. Sometimes I use a tiny bit on my cheeks too.

5. Benefit Lollibalm Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm

This is a really nice pinkish-nude on me and it feels great on my lips. Sometimes I use it alone, other times I swipe some very subtly shimmery gloss on top.

6. Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs

Influenster sent me Airbrush legs for free to sample. It's definitely not something I would use every day but for special occasions for sure! My sample is the "Light" and when I'm first putting it on it's looks kind of dark (I am super pale)! But as I keep rubbing it in it blends well and it does smooth out my skin tone and gives it a nice glow. I put it on before work the other day (picture below), went though the whole day and even went for a run in a light rain and it stayed put!

Facing the screen, left leg has the Airbrush Legs, right leg is without.
Not making this picture any bigger than it is because I already feel kind of
weird posting a picture of my legs on the internets.
Have you tried any of these products? What do you think?

Oh and funnies. I have to.

I don't know why these things make me laugh so hard but they just do.

Ok, not everyone will probably recognize this next one, but I know Kristen will!

The bottom elephant- SO me. I cannot with mornings. Unless I don't have to go to work and then somehow I magically love mornings...

I just want to know what kind of party these people were having:

Have a fabulous weekend, lovelies!

Currently...

*This post contains affiliate links*

- Loving all the football on TV. It's back in all it's glory and I can't get enough. I'm like a junkie.

- Enjoying lazy weekends that include a lot of pup snuggles:

Yes, we let all 3 of our dogs up on the couch,
and yes, those are MY throw pillows they are laying on. I need new throw pillows.

And crafting:

- Taking full advantage of the fact that we are currently babysitting my in-laws' smoker and Adam is experimenting.

Don't those ribs look like the Brontosaurus thing that Fred Flintstone gets in the drive-thru? Anyone?
- Wanting to paint my nails fall colors.

Sinful Colors Rich In Heart::Sinful Colors Copper Pot::Sinful Colors Gold Medal::Sinful Colors Nirvana

I most definitely tried all of these on my nails in the store last Friday and I wasn't meaning to put them all together but once they were on I was like, hey, these are so pretty together! and now I want to buy them all.

- Spending money on ridiculous things like this:

Yes, that says "Rufferee". Not. Even. Sorry.

- Anxiously awaiting the arrival of this beauty:

This will be my first EVER iPhone and although I really didn't care before and we kind of stumbled into pre-ordering it on Saturday, now that I know it's coming I'm getting excited and already have a case picked out for it (Clear with white polka dots so you can see the pretty rose gold-ness).

I have missed you ladies! What have you been up to?
