Just kidding! (Sort of) I was thrilled to be contacted by Taylor and given the opportunity to collaborate with her on a blog tour! Her blog is so much awesome (she has a story about eating pudding through a nylon, you guys) and you should totally go check it out right now. Don't worry, I'll wait.
.....Anyways, so about my writing process:
What am I working on?
I have SO many blog post ideas in my head right now!
I have a couple of campaigns I need to write for, some I am waiting on the product and some I have the product already but still need to test it out in order to do the post. I also have some fun ideas for Christmas-themed posts and maybe some listicles (That's what I've heard them called by Buzzfeed and the like but that is such a weird word and kind of gives me the heeby jeebies).
I'm also about thiiiiis close to just getting a new blogging template already. All I have right now is one of the free ones on Blogger and it's ok but just kind of blah and not very customizable. I L-O-V-E love these templates from Sarah at Social and Chic (Or you may know her as Venus Trapped In Mars)!
How does my work differ from others of its type/genre?
Well, it's pretty much your typical lifestyle blog. I write about pretty much anything and everything, whatever is on my mind at the time. I try to be upbeat and fun, but with the occasional more serious and thoughtful post. I'm actually a really "in my head" and introverted kind of person, but I try to stretch myself and work on being more outgoing. I used to really struggle with being positive because I deal with anxiety a lot (and still do sometimes!), but at the same time I'm an optimistic person (talk about your walking contradiction!) so I'm trying to focus on the good and not let fear rule me these days. So I guess the only thing really unique about my blog is, well, me! My experiences, my outlook, and my faith which colors everything I do.
Why do I write what I do?
I write to document my life, my thoughts, and my dreams. I have always been horrible about keeping up with a written journal and would only write occasionally, and I gave up on scrapbooking a long time ago, but I do love looking back on what I have written and reliving the memories they bring! I have been a lot more consistent with this blog, and I know I will appreciate having it to look back through.
I also write to (hopefully!) be an encouragement to others. I feel like there is just so much bad news in the world, so much crap going on, so many things that bring you down. I want to be someone who is always an encouragement to everyone around me, whether it's through telling you you're not alone in your struggles or just writing something that makes you laugh or at least brings a smile to your face. I want you to always know that above all, no matter who you are, where you've been, what you've done or haven't done, you are loved.
How does my writing process work?
LOLOLOL! But seriously though, my writing process usually consists of "Hmm, what am I going to write about for tomorrow's blog post?" and then I write it, usually the night before right before bed, which doesn't give me a lot of time to do the more involved stuff. What I REALLY need to do is set aside time on the weekends to write drafts and *GASP* actually schedule my posts in advance but clearly I need an Erin Condren planner in order to do that right??
So now is the part where I get to introduce you to some beautiful ladies and their blogs, and nominate them to write about their writing process!
First up is this lovely lady:
Nadine over at Life By Nadine Lynn is hilarious and has the BEST confessions and ecards EVAR. Plus she always posts the most delicious looking food which is fun to drool over. I love her no nonsense style and her huge heart for animals! I mean she volunteers at her local humane society, how amazing is that?! Plus every time I read her posts I end up saying "YES, me too!" so we're basically the same person even though we've never met IRL.
Next up is Ashley at A Cute Angle:
Ashley is a sweetheart and I love her fashion posts and her posts about Princess Kate because I adore Kate and think she is the classiest thing ever! We agree on this so obviously we had to be friends. She also posted a recipe for something called a Cinnamon Roll Cake and HELLO deliciousness I need to try this!
And last but certainly not least is the fabulous Melissa:
Melissa blogs over at Daily Chaos and she writes about being Basic and how that's not a bad thing, being "Blogger Famous", and how dieting sucks. I love how real and straightforward she is, so refreshing! Plus she describes herself as "A bubbly blonde who loves bubble tea, chipotle, bears and pugs." I mean what's not to love??
So there you have it, three wonderful ladies and new blogs for you to discover! So go on, get to discovering!
Can't wait to see what new template you pick out!! I always write down all my ideas in a notebook and then just work from there...can't wait to read all the stuff you have coming up!
ReplyDeleteThese posts are so much fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this post! I had no idea you had trouble with anxiety....me too, girl. Me too. I just looked up Social and Chic's templates and they are adorable! Definitely if I get a redesign (which I'm considering sometime in the future) I'll go to her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating with me!
XO,
Taylor

Such a fun post! Love those templates! We are contemplating a blog make over, but like anything change can be a big thing. Looking forward to reading more from the bloggers you nominated.
ReplyDeleteI feel all special being featured!!! I will try to plan my post for next week...hopefully maybe Tuesday. Because my writing process looks a lot like yours. Only, instead of before I go to bed the night before...it is the morning of right before I hit publish! Ha! It is rare that I have one ready to go these days. I am trying to get better about it!
ReplyDeleteI love Nadine and I'm so glad you nominated her! I'll have to check out the other ones.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with anxiety, too, and I'm extremely introverted. Blogging definitely helps me deal with both. I'm excited for what you have coming up. And listicles IS a weird word.
HA! I am SO GLAD I'm not the only one who was like "wait, what...am I doing this blogging thing wrong since I don't really have a 'process?'" haha! Our "process" is very similar. Think of an idea--write it. Boom. hah!
ReplyDeleteMy writing "process" is the same way. I basically just "think" out loud, hahah!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE NADINE! :)
A new template is always fun! Let me know if you need any help with design! I'd love to help you!!! Also I loved your sweet features for the blog tour!
