CHOMP CHOMP

Ahem...sorry, had to get that out there. Be forewarned, there is A LOT of orange and blue in this post. The good feels about football have been few and far between this season, so we have to celebrate while we can! But before we talk about the gloriousness that was college football on Saturday, let's start with Friday night:

I had to run by Payless on the way home from work to pick up these "Ruby Slippers" to complete my look for Friday night. They aren't sparkly but at least they're shiny! And they're actually really cute for regular wear and I'm pretty excited to have red heels for work!

The only thing that could have made this better is if I could have done braids in my hair, but it's too short and layered. :( Oh well, I think Hurley and I still made a pretty convincing Dorothy and Toto!

Saturday morning I had an early morning delivery, but then I came back home and we slept in till 10:30. Lovely! We decided we should probably get up and eat some Coffee Cake Muffins, because Saturday=Carbs.

Then I cleaned up around the house and FINALLY got the Christmas Party invites addressed.

And then this happened:

Yes, Rocky is wearing it around his neck. We don't have a jersey big enough for him, so he gets to wear an old one of Otie's around his neck when he wants to represent for the Gators. My dogs love me so much. See how thrilled Otie looks?

Decked out in the Orange and Blue from head to toe! I was baking a cake and figured I should use the Gator oven mitt. Now I think I need to be baking and using this mitt every Saturday for the rest of the season. Because clearly it was a factor in the result of the game.

The weather was absolutely perfect for football, it actually felt like Fall in Jax on Saturday! Although it was really windy, not so good for kickers.

My twitter feed during the game:

I seriously went into this game thinking "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best!" so I went in with no expectations, just hoping it wouldn't be a complete disaster like two weeks ago vs. Mizzou. Seriously, it was like watching a completely different team from two weeks ago! I was floored.

We went to Chili's with some friends for dinner and watched last half of the game there. I think there were mainly GA fans there, because the bar was deathly quiet. After we took the lead we never lost it, but because this is FL/GA, I didn't feel like I could really breathe easy until there were only 2 minutes left on the clock and we still had a comfortable margin.

We may go back to sucking next week, but for now this is a sweet, sweet victory and SO very needed for the team and the fans! I was so proud of my Gators!

Raise the "woof"!
That night we watched the Vols vs. the Gamecocks, that was quite a game! I love the SEC so very, very much.

Sunday morning Adam went out to his RC club, so I watched Jane Austen goodness and made myself  a protein-packed breakfast:

Then we went to Hurricane for lunch and watched the Jags game. Not such a great outcome there, although I was impressed with the Jags sticking with it and not giving up late in the game! Alas it wasn't enough to win.

The rest of the evening was spent going through the piles of stuff from the shop and Adam's RC stuff trying to get it organized and throwing away the things we don't need anymore. It's a process to figure out where it's all going to go, and let's just say it's going to look worse before it looks better, but it was good to get started on it!

All in all a wonderful weekend and as usual Monday came way too quickly for me! How was your weekend? Linking up!

  8. That is a ton of football. I don't watch college football, not even for my alma mater, but my husband gives me the updates from his phone like I'm supposed to care. I don't.
