Friday Favorites: Christmas Movie Edition

Are you sick of my Christmas posts yet? I feel like I have a limited time to get them all in so I'm throwing it all out there! Today I thought I would share my all time favorite Christmas movies! I have SO many favorites and it was hard to narrow them down, but if I had to choose 5 favorites, it would be these:

1. A Christmas Carol (1951) and Muppet Christmas Carol

I know I'm already cheating, including two in one, but these are tied for first! They are my all time favorite versions of the Christmas Carol because they were my dad's favorite and we loved watching them together!

2. Elf

I mean who doesn't love this movie?? It's an instant classic, it's hilarious, and there's a character named Mr. Narwhal. I rest my case.

3. Christmas in Connecticut

This movie. So much awesome. I feel like this one may not be as well known as some of the other old  Christmas movies, but it's so funny and well written! If you haven't seen it, you must!

4. The Santa Clause

They're all cute, but the first one is my favorite! We have this on VHS. Yes, those black rectangular things you used to have to rewind. Some day maybe we will buy a copy on DVD. Or even Blu ray! Baby steps, baby steps.

5. Rankin Bass Christmas Classics

Ok, I'm kind of cheating again on this one, but I love them all! It's just not Christmas until we've watched these!

Honorable mentions are White Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, Jingle All The Way, Miracle on 34th Street, and I KNOW I'm forgetting some. I just pretty much love all Christmas movies.

What are your favorite Christmas movies?

  1. The Santa Clause is TOP on my list!! We have a church that puts on a Christmas according to Scrooge with the Christmas Carol story and it's so good but I don't go see it every year so I might have to see if Netflix has one of those editions!! Elf, best Will Ferrell movie ever and oh the Christmas Classics bring back so many memories.

  2. Now that I've seen the Elf, I'm totally on board with it being an amazing Christmas movie!! Hope you have a great weekend girl! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  3. So glad to see Muppet Christmas Carol on someone else's list!! I love love love that one!! I'll have to get on the Christmas in Connecticut!! Have a great weekend!!!

  4. I LOVE Christmad in Connecticut! Have you seen It Happened on 5th Avenue? If you like Connecticut, you would like that one too. I love the classics in #5 too. You're right, it's just not Christmas until you've seen them!

  5. ahh I love those claymation ones! AND ELF. I haven't even WATCHED Elf yet. It's unacceptable.

  6. I've never seen Christmas in Connecticut, but I love the other ones!!!

  7. what a fun list! I haven't see Christmas in Connecticut. My favorite is White Christmas. I do love watching the Santa Claus, such a great classic.

  8. I couldn't narrow it down to just 5 either, even if I tried! I have never heard of Christmas in Connecticut either but I LOVE old movies so I'm going to have to try to hunt it down :) We just watched the Santa Clause last night :)

  9. Elf, The Santa Clause, Home Alone and The Grinch (bath cartoon and Jim Carey) are my top favorites :)

  10. Cheating is totally okay, there are definitely more that 5 awesome Christmas movies out there! And I'm a big Christmas in Connecticut fan, it's nice to finally find someone else who's actually seen it!

  11. These are some of my favourite. I havent watched one for the season but these aare all great movies!
