Weekend Recap

Welcome to Monday! I'm trying very hard to be happy for a new week instead of just wishing it was still the weekend. I did have Friday off but it doesn't seem to matter much how many days I've had off when Monday rolls around. But I had a very relaxing weekend (almost too relaxing since I didn't get much cleaning done around the house, but let's not talk about that).

On Friday we slept in and had a lazy morning at home, then we had lunch at Mojo's and went to Books A Million to drink coffee and read magazines. We also shopped around for a new grill, much needed since our old one is literally falling apart.

And stopped by Trader Joe's where I bought my first jar of this deliciousness:

This is both very very not good and very very good at the same time.

Saturday I spent the morning relaxing and reading. We set Saturday aside as our first "Day Trip" day of the year. I had originally thought we would do something more all day and outdoors, but the weather was rainy and windy most of the day. So we decided to just chill at home for the morning and then go down to the World Golf Village in St. Augustine and see The Hobbit at the IMAX there (I KNOW, we are way behind on seeing it, we never go to the movies so it was a stretch to go but I really wanted to see it in theaters!) Before the movie we ate at Caddyshack and shopped at the outlet mall, where I scored some good deals at BBW on Wallflowers and got a free body spray! It's the little things.

The movie was in 3D so we got to wear these stylish things:

Saturday night we spent at home, and after watching The Hobbit earlier that day we felt like we needed to start watching The Lord of the Rings Trilogy again, so we watched The Fellowship of the Ring and I decided I needed to make chocolate chip cookies. I discovered I didn't have any brown sugar, but I was determined. And I didn't want to go to the store, so I made my own. When you really want cookies, you find a way.

I got a little blog work done, finally got some of my posts pinned on my Pinterest. Trying to be more proactive about social media for the blog!

Sunday Adam went out to the RC field and I was just REALLY lazy so there's not much to say about that. We did have dinner with friends and found a good deal on a grill, so we went ahead and got that. I finished the evening by watching two hours of Downton Abbey (watched last week's episode since I missed it) and the new show, Grantchester. It's interesting, still trying to decide what I think of it.

What did you do this weekend?

Bella And The City

  1. Sounds like a fun weekend. Y'all are super stylish in those glasses!

how did you make brown sugar?

  2. Ugh, we went back and forth on whether or not to watch Grantchester! It looked ok and was on right after Downton, but we decided against it. That is the worst when you start making something and realize you don't have ONE ingredient. But glad you made it work! Sounds like an awesome weekend! Hope you have a good week!

  3. Sounds like a great weekend girl!!! I havent been to the golf village ever - can you believe that?! great job on getting stuff done for the blog - it's hard on the weekend but makes the weeks so much easier!! See you soon! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  4. I cant wait for the Trader Joe's to open here so I can get all my old favorites and try the cookie butter everyone raves about!!!

We need to get some new wallflowers too, I only have one left! A thousand wishes is my new favorite sent. I got it in a shower gel last time I was there and realized I need it in the whole line!

    Have a great week!

  5. I have not succumbed to cookie butter yet...honestly i'm scared i'll love it and that I wont be able to stop eating it. I already have a peanut butter problem. Sounds like a really nice and busy weekend. All weekends should be 3-day weekends!

  6. Looks like a fun weekend! We just got a Trader Joe's and I love it! Have to see if they carry that delish item you mentioned!

  7. ahh i STILL need to try that cookie butter...but i think it might be way too dangerous to have in our house ;) xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  8. you made your own brown sugar? you're so fancy. i haven't tried that cookie butter, i know it will be a bad decision on my part lol. is your meal fish and chips? because it looks amazing and I WANT it right now.

  9. Gahhhh Cookie Butter is sooooo good! The Caddy Shack food looks delicious as well!! -Dorrie @ Bear Den Plantation

  10. Looks like a good weekend! :) I'm trying to be ready for a fresh/new week too but I swear this Monday is really living up to it's reputation of being crappy! I am definitely ready to get home and get this day over with!

  11. We don't have a TJ anywhere near where I live (the closet one is almost an hour away) so I'm very jealous of you and your cookie butter.

Pre-child, one of our favorite dates was going to the bookstore, getting drinks, and reading magazines. So relaxing. And cheap!

  12. Just letting you know don't eat it with a spoon.......before you know it the whole jar will be gone and you won't remember what happened ;-)

  13. ohhhh mannnn that cookie butter looks good. I hear it's very addicting, beware!

  14. I would totally find a way to make brown sugar too, lol. I found that cooking is a lot easier to do that with than baking though. I'm not a big fan of the cookie butter! I like good ol' fashion PB. Looks like a fun an relaxing weekend!

  15. haha cookie butter sounds dangerous. Lawd-ness!!
