Confession Session

YOU GUYS. Do you not LOVE my new look?? Because I LOVE IT so much! I cannot say enough good things about Sarah of Social and Chic (and her blog Venus Trapped In Mars)! She designed and installed the template and I could not be more thrilled! Isn't it fabulous?? Seriously, if you're thinking about a new look for your blog, check her out! She does custom design too! Thanks SO much Sarah, it's beautiful!

And now for some confessions:

* I got on the scale on Monday morning to mark where I was at the official (re)start of my weight loss plan and it was NOT pretty. Let's just say there's nothing like a big ole scale reality check to give me just the kick in the pants I need. Turns out I can't eat everything in sight without consequences. Huh.

* I had heard about it before, but it literally just occurred to me that I can borrow e-books from the library on my Kindle instead of always having to go to the library to get them. Mind=blown. Now I do prefer "real" books and I LOVE the library, but sometimes it's nice to just grab the e-book you know? Especially if your branch never has the ONE book that you need to continue reading the series you're on.

* There are so many dramas at work right now and I just can't even.

* I was both fascinated and supremely creeped out by the giant moving lion thing Katy Perry was riding in her halftime show on Sunday night. I mean it was kind of cool, but also the red eyes and the way it moved weirded me out.

Seriously, though, how crazy is this thing??
* My BFF and I went to the mall last night and we went into Charlotte Russe, which we used to shop at ALL the time as teenagers. We actually did find some pretty cute stuff, but also there were a lot of tiny shorts and super short dresses and the music was SO LOUD and I'm pretty sure I sounded like an old lady, I was all "WHAT? I can't hear you, this music is SO LOUD!" Ahh youth.

* The other day I brought a can of tuna for lunch, along with some spinach and a tortilla, planning to make a wrap. When I went to the break room at lunch to make it I couldn't find the can opener! I was so bummed, that was my protein! I NEED protein or I get super hungry, or more like hangry. I looked in every drawer and cabinet and no can opener. So I just ate my sad little protein-less spinach wrap. Then later someone found it just as I was going on my afternoon break and I legit busted that tuna out for my afternoon snack, I was so happy. Do not stand between me and my protein.

Link it up lovelies!

  1. Absolutely looooooove the new look!!! I sorta loved the Katy Perry half-time, even though I loved the Missy Elliot part more. I just like that she stayed true to herself -- plus dancing sharks. It's so hard to walk into those kinds of stores and not feel old!!

  6. Your blog design is great! I had the same reality check when jumping on the scale this week. Ugh. I guess the M&M jar needs to go away. *sigh. :/

  7. I LOVE borrowing ebooks online. I gave up on using my actual ereader because I just like books better, but I started keeping an ebook on my phone so that I have one at all times. It's so easy to read a few pages when I'm waiting for something or on my lunch break.

  8. Yes. I'm loving the new look on your blog. I need my protein too. I love chips and stuff for snack... but that's just it. Without protein, it's not satisfying for a meal.

  9. I LOVE your blog's new look! I think I was equally mesmerized by Katy Perry's lion/tiger thing. I could not stop staring at it? Did you see there were people below controlling the feet?

  12. Loving your new look, so pretty!

I LOVE ebooks from the library. That's the only way I read on my kindle now. I hate paying for books that I can't hold, if that makes sense. Borrowing books makes reading more fun!

  14. The new look is AWESOME!! And so is that ecard thing about grocery store music. SO TRUE!!!

I will sometimes get eBooks from the library when the waiting list for the regular book is too long or there aren't enough copies and I can get the eBook sooner. I want my books and I want them NOW!!!

  16. Your blog layout is quite adorable. I like it a lot.

Yeah I got the same nasty shock when I stepped on a scale in early january. I mean, I'm not small to begin with but I was really upset. I've been really proactive in changing my habits and it's starting to pay off.

I have the same experiences in Hot Topic. I used to always shop there because I loved the goth/Grunge feel of the store and loved the Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and Nirvana they played. Was there last week. First thing I saw was a frilly pink shirt and they were playing Katy Perry. Nothing wrong with either but it was such a shock. And the music was crazy LOUD. The cashier was shouting.

  17. She did a fabulous job love the new digs!!!

Ughhh that is like when I have to actually return something that I bought online at F21 and then I have to take it back to the store major old lady syndrome....why is it so loud in there for real?

That happened to me once with a can of soup it was like the only thing I brought for lunch and I had a breakdown when I couldn't find the damn opener! Had to order Jimmy Johns so it ended up being ok ;)

  18. How can you have JUST a spinach wrap? The protein is what makes it yummy and filling! And as for the teeny bopper, ahem, young adult stores in the mall I always have to shout over the music and feel totally out of place even if I'm shopping with/for my 13 year old cousin. Loud and smelly (cuz they're always spraying perfumes and colognes) don't suit me anymore in my old age. :)

  19. I was so excited when I found out I could borrow books from the library on my Nook -- that is all I did for about six months ha ha. Also, I feel you on the hangry thing. Now that I am working out more frequently I have the appetite of a bear and I legit get angry if I haven't had my protein. Glad you were able to find a can opener!
