eShakti!

AKA that blog post where I show how awkward I am in front of the camera. Please excuse my blinding pale-ness, I'm really not sure why I am so pale in these pictures.

I have heard so much about eShakti, so I was super excited to get an email from them asking if I would like to review one of their custom-made dresses! Um, yes please!

I went on their website to order and found the customization very easy to do, just a few measurements, pockets or no pockets? (always pockets!!), choose your length, and your done!

I love the classic style of this dress! It was a little more snug in the waist than I expected (and I did measure my waist a little big to make sure it wouldn't be too tight) but the elastic in the back makes it work. Plus I love how the gathered waist looks, it gives the illusion of tiny-ness! And the length is perfect, not too long and not too short, I could easily wear this for work.

The only thing I wasn't thrilled about with the fit was the bottom of the bodice was a little too big, like there was just too much fabric under the bust, so it doesn't have as much of a custom fit look there.

I ADORE the colors, I like that it's a little different and unexpected with the deep plum and navy blue together. I like that, though they aren't traditional fall colors, they work perfectly for fall because of the deep, rich, warm tones.

The keyhole top is lovely and really adds a nice detail. If I am wearing it to work, I would probably wear a cami under it just to make myself more comfortable. I don't like feeling like I'm constantly tugging at something to make sure it covers everything, especially at work!

Overall I think this was the perfect style for me, it cinches in my waist and then the full skirt (but not too full!) skims my hips so as to be forgiving to my problem areas!

Plus it has POCKETS!!! Ok, I'm a little obsessed with dresses with pockets, I think it's the best idea since yoga pants.

  1. That dress looks super cute on you! I need to get my review up. I really wanted a dress but they were all taken when I got to pick mine so I ordered a tunic and it had been too hot to take pictures in it thus far!

  5. I have an Eshakti dress I'm needing to review also! :) I love the one you chose! I am having the same issues with mine - a little loose under the bust and the waist just isn't quite right. I think I make it look better with a belt and scarf though. And you are right - always pockets on dresses!

  7. This looks really great on you! I did a review too. I loved the dress on the hanger, but it didn't really work on me. The material was really thin - pretty much see through. It was a total bummer! http://acutelifestyle.blogspot.com/2014/10/monday-madness-link-up-101314.html
